ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Meet our emerging earring artist, Toya Poplar, a talented jewelry designer who started creating beautiful pieces over 20 years ago, but took a break from her passion and picked her pen. It wasn't until she was struggling with an illness that she found solace in crafting again. She discovered that as long as she was creating, the pain she had in her body seemed to subside.
Now, her stunning creations are being sold in a Brown Books & More Bookstore (Decatur, AL) and Renew Salon in Spa (Madison, AL), and she is excited to announce that her jewelry will be available soon in New York City.
Toya isn't just a jewelry maker. She is also a life coach, self-care advocate, best-selling author, mom of six, and is happily married to her high school sweetheart. She is passionate about helping others embrace and express their authenticity.
Her unique jewelry pieces are a reflection of her creativity, resilience, and love for life. From dainty hoops to bold patterns, there is something for everyone in her collection. BRAND STORY
Toya Poplar loved bold jewelry but struggled to find statement-piece earrings that were comfortable. Many were heavy and left her with headaches or tender lobes. She has sensitive skin and although she loves bold styles, she can't wear many due to allergies and irritations.
One day, she took matters into her own hands and started creating her own--FLY earrings. She wanted to create earrings that make women feel confident and empowered, while also being comfortable to wear.
FLY earrings are statement pieces that come in a variety of unique designs and sizes. They are hypoallergenic and made out of preloved fabrics that are gentle on even the most sensitive skin.
At FLY, we believe that every woman deserves to feel beautiful and confident in her own skin, (no matter how sensitive their skin may be) our earrings are lightweight and easy to wear, allowing you to express your personal style without sacrificing comfort. We are passionate about repurposing materials, which is why we use preloved fabrics in most of our designs.

Recently, FLY Earrings had a brand showcase during New York Fashion Week, and it was a huge success. The brand showcased 15 pair of earrings by 15 amazing models, that symbolized the seasons of a women’s life. The collection featured a range of materials such as gold, silver, faux fur, fringe and Alabama homegrown cotton that were perfect for any occasion.
The event was attended by fashion enthusiasts, influencers, and industry professionals, who were all impressed by the creativity and quality of the collection. The brand's attention to detail, custom theme song, and commitment to sustainability impressed attendees and fellow designers.
One of the highlights of the event was watching celebrity designer, Rashad Calhoun be presented with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. FLY Earrings would like to thank and congratulate Dahsar by Rashad for inviting our brand to be apart of such a monumental event.
